You will apply and grow hands‑on software engineering expertise to contribute to real challenges across a variety of domains. As part of the Software Engineering Innovation Center, you will develop software architecture and engineering skills while delivering computing capabilities to address sponsor challenges.

You will engage in the full software engineering lifecycle using modern technologies and strive to deliver high‑quality software solutions.

• Leverage and grow hands‑on skills with software design and development while addressing sponsor challenges.
• Gain experience with one or more of the following areas:
  Cloud Engineering;
  Dev Sec Ops ;
  Full‑Stack Development;
  Embedded Systems and Internet of Things;
  Practical Applications of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.
• Familiarity with user‑centered design principles as applied throughout the software development cycle.
• Develop wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas.
• Mission‑based software engineering and deployment.

• Requires less than 1 year of related experience with a related Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
• Must be a US citizen able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance.
• Hands‑on skills in at least one and ideally multiple modern programming languages (e.g., Java, JavaScript/Type Script, C/C++, C#, Python, Go, or Rust).
• Familiarity with Dev Sec Ops  principles and practices (exposure to CI/CD, Infrastructure‑as‑Code, automation for security and testing, etc.).
• Demonstrated ability and desire to quickly learn and apply new technologies.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues.
• High level desire to help our nation solve its most critical challenges.
• Exposure to software development tools and frameworks, including source control management tools (e.g., Git).
• Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, D3, and modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, Vue, React, and/or similar libraries.
• Proficiency in utilizing wireframe design software.
• Requires a minimum of 50% hybrid onsite.

• Preference given to candidates who have completed an advanced degree in a technical discipline (including Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, etc.).
• Preference given to qualified candidates with active clearance.
• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
• Familiarity with Cloud Services…
