Operating Engineer

Develop your engineering career at JLL! The Operating Engineer supports operation, inspection, and maintenance processes of mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems. This position requires the engineer to be on‑site.

Schedule:

Tuesday – Saturday 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM.

• Complete assigned tasks including painting, pressure washing, maintaining lighting system bulbs/ballasts (permits), plumbing, HVAC systems, water treatment, locksmith work, and general maintenance.
• Maintain work order system (CMMS) daily and complete tenant service requests.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspection tasks.
• Support on‑call or emergency response situations (if applicable).
• Troubleshoot building systems, including electrical, DDC, and pneumatic controls.
• Comply with safety procedures.
• Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational training programs.
• Other projects and tasks as assigned.

• 3+ years of related work experience—repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or carpentry.
• Trade school education, union training, military service, or college (desirable).
• Universal CFC EPA certification or interest in achieving within first year (with JLL assistance).
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, use ladders up to 30 ft., and frequently climb, bend, kneel, lift, and/or drive.
• Strong customer service skills.
