EssentialJob Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide best‑in‑class guest service: greet guests promptly; respond to questions quickly, effectively, and courteously; recommend additional items; apply all selling behaviors; thank guests for shopping andივერს guest needs.
- Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships.
- Process guest purchases and returns accurately and promptly using the POS system.
- Respond to guest comments via phone and in person; answer calls professionally and escannel issues to the Store Manager when appropriate.
- Promote Game Stop’s guest benefits, such as title reservations, trade‑in program, and Pro Rewards.
- Assist the Store Manager in setting associate service expectations and training associates on company policies and procedures.
- Observe associate performance and provide timely feedback to the Store Manager.
- Enter associate performance feedback into the Workday/HR system.
- Ensure associates complete onboarding, job training, and compliance training before shifts.
- Schedule associates, manage breaks, and maintain staffing levels to achieve optimal guest service.
- Approve payroll, enter paid time off, and verify accurate payment of associates.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and merchandising across all store areas.
- Fulfill and ship Omni‑Channel orders daily.
- Protect assets through effective inventory control and loss‑prevention practices, inspecting packages and belongings at closing.
- Support store performance goals and complete required administrative duties.
- Conduct inventory counts and restock merchandise, ensuring proper display on the sales floor.
- Reconcile daily transaction totals and complete deposit slips accurately.
- Verify shipments for discrepancies and report to management.
- Process defective, recall, and stock‑pull items accurately and promptly.
- Maintain safety awareness, report injuries per company guidelines.
- Assist in maintaining neat and organized store records.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders when the Store Manager is absent.
- Adhere to all Game Stop policies and procedures, including the user handbook and Code of Standards. Follow all opening and closing procedures.
- Proof of identity and eligibility to work legally in the United States.
- At least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or accredited bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.
- At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
- At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, or management experience preferred.
- Video game knowledge preferred.

- Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills.
- Provide individualized assistance to every guest.
- Clear verbal and written communication; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Ability to achieve objectives in a fast‑paced environment.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Meet associate performance expectations (attendance, appearance, safety).
- Operate POS system.
- Basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, currency) and alphabetizing skills.
- Complete required paperwork properly.
- Execute financial tasks in accordance with company policy.
- Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
- Creative problem solving and effective stress management.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and uses good judgment.
- Work unassisted for up to 12 hours a day.
- Lif merchandise up to 30 lbs and perform basic motor tasks.
- Understand military ranks (applicable only to base locations).
Full‑time store positions are eligible to participate in incentive programs, 401(k), paid time off, dental, vision, and health insurance; may also be eligible for bonuses and/or other incentives.
Compensation$15.52 – $19.52 per hour.
