Position Summary

Vinson Hall (VH), a premier Continuing Care Retirement Community located in McLean, VA, is seeking an energetic and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Home Health department. Position Requirements :

* Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current LPN licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

* Current CPR certification. One year experience in medical/surgical area or Long Term Care and/or Assisted Living Facility (ALF) preferred.

* Experience with geriatrics preferred.

Primary Functions and Responsibilities:

* Provides direct resident care, furnishing guidance for continuous contributions to resident assessments, interacting with the physician to implement changes and updates.

* Assists with coordinating pharmacy services for residents with local military and civilian pharmacies.

* Administers and documents medications and treatments.

* As a Charge Nurse, supervises subordinate personnel, answering questions and guiding work.

* Oversees the on-going assessments of residents, with appropriate interaction as indicated, monitors documentation of condition and any changes.

* Conducts "rounds" as necessary to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.

* Provides appropriate leadership for the intervention and documentation of emergency situations.
