Overview
Manager, Horizontal HR Communications. We’re looking for an excellent communications leader to drive comprehensive communications strategies for an executive leader within the Banking & Premium Products businesses. The person will develop, execute, maintain, and iterate on a comprehensive communications strategy that connects the leader, their leadership team, and their associates to Enterprise partners and bold business goals and strategy. The role sits on the central Banking & Premium Products chief of staff team and focuses on internal communications that connect leaders and their teams to the top-of-house strategy, supporting business programs and initiatives and enhancing the associate experience.
The ideal candidate will bring fresh ideas to connect leaders in new ways and create meaningful communications that promote associate engagement and drive value for the business. You will evaluate opportunities, drive communications strategies from start to finish, and prepare content for internal and external audiences. You should provide communications counsel backed by channel metrics and associate feedback, be comfortable speaking to leadership teams, and partner with HR, chiefs of staff, and other stakeholders to drive communications.
You’ll also support large-scale projects, events, and internal campaigns with strong judgment, influencing, and problem-solving skills, and foster an inclusive, appreciative, and fun environment for associates.
- Develop and implement a communications strategy that:
1) helps build the executive leader’s brand internally and externally, and
2) brings the team’s narratives to life - Be a creative storyteller who curates engaging experiences including leadership gatherings, all-employee meetings, digital/video storytelling, and special events
- Serve as a strategic partner to other executive communicators and chiefs of staff to plan and prepare effective internal communications that educate, inform, connect with, and inspire leaders and employees
- When necessary, lead change management communications in support of the business
- Draft leader talking points and review presentations
- Provide counsel on communicating business strategy, elevating leadership profiles, managing issues, and implementing corporate initiatives
- Evaluate performance for communications based on real-time metrics and other leading KPIs; recommend refinements to strategies, messaging, and feedback mechanisms based on ongoing assessments
- Partner with internal partners as needed in the best interests of the business and its employees
- Strong business acumen and customer-orientation with a track record of collaborative relationships
- Good judgment with the ability to work autonomously
- Excellent writing and storytelling skills
- Ability to distill complex content into clear, concise, and engaging communications
- Experience managing issues, crisis communications, and organizational change communications
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to execute multiple complex projects to a high-quality conclusion on time
- Highly motivated with eagerness to learn and become an expert on the business to inform communications strategy and deliverables
- Bachelor's Degree or military experience
- At least 5 years of experience developing and implementing integrated communication strategies to drive organizational change and create feedback loops between leaders and subordinates
- At least 5 years of experience partnering with c-suite executives on communications that support organizational objectives
- At least 5 years of experience managing multiple projects
- Master’s Degree in English, journalism, communications, marketing, writing, or public relations
- 2+ years of experience in financial services, technology, or other highly regulated industry
