Overview
Business Director, Community Impact and Investment - LOB Advisory. As a Business Director at Capital One, you will apply strategic and analytical skills to major company challenges. You’ll team with professionals to develop and test strategies that impact the bottom line, in a collaborative environment that values insight, encourages new responsibilities, promotes continuous learning, and rewards innovation.
This role leads a team of 8-10 associates that drives business value and social impact by leveraging data and research insights, community-based expertise, and an integrated enterprise perspective to inform business decisions and products, shape the philanthropic strategy, drive a thought leadership agenda, and track metrics for community impact and return of business value. The team collaborates with CI&I, Community Finance, Corporate Communications, Public Affairs, Intelligence, and project partnerships with Retail, BC&P, Auto, Card, and Commercial.
Responsibilities- Strategic leadership:
Contribute to business and philanthropic strategies that drive growth, profitability, competitive success, and community impact amid shifting consumer and regulatory behavior. - Function ownership:
Own this key function with strategic planning of a 12-18 month horizon at minimum. - Leadership:
Manage and develop a team of analysts and strategists; coach and mentor associates to make Capital One a rewarding career stop. - Product:
Inform new product and pricing strategies for products that are part of the Community Benefits Plan (e.g., Ventures Lending). - Credit Risk:
Support LOB teams in improving credit performance by linking drivers of future consumer credit trends to community trends; inform risk models and test hypotheses with rigorous monitoring and analysis. - Execution:
Coordinate across lines of business to manage and sequence delivery of CBP-aligned products and enable a broad portfolio of community investments. - Strategic & analytic orientation:
Demonstrate a proven track record of analytics-based decision making and problem solving, with strong conceptual and quantitative skills. - People leadership:
Build and leverage a high-performing team and business partners; foster innovation; drive critical decisions; hold partners accountable; deliver results. - Executive communication and stakeholder management:
Impeccable written and oral communication with strategic influencing skills to drive agreement. - Results orientation:
Maintain an intense focus on short- and long-term goals and execute in a dynamic environment. - Experience:
Thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment; consulting experience is a plus.

QualificationsBasic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering)
- At least 7 years of experience in analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree
- 2+ years of experience in financial services
- 1+ year of experience in consulting
- 3+ years of experience in people management

Salary and BenefitsThe minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries are for candidates hired to perform work within listed locations and may be reflected in the offer letter. Part-time salaries are prorated.
- McLean, VA: $230,400 - $263,000
- New York, NY: $251,400 - $286,900
- Richmond, VA: $209,500 - $239,100
Candidates hired elsewhere will be paid according to that location’s range. This role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and long-term incentives (LTI), discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan.
