Overview
We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team at Fountains at McLean Condominium. Fountains at McLean is a 502-unit condominium community located in McLean, VA, consisting of two mid-rise buildings, thirteen garden-style buildings, and a clubhouse. This role is responsible for maintaining the overall integrity, safety, and functionality of all building systems while ensuring the community operates efficiently.
Duties include routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and timely response to maintenance issues to keep equipment and facilities in optimal condition. The ideal candidate is a dependable team player with prior maintenance experience, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality work. This is a full-time, at-will position.
- Plan and implement preventative maintenance procedures to maximize equipment operations and minimize safety risks.
- Manage other maintenance requests as required.
- Inspect the building for any structural damage to windows, doors, walls, and perform necessary repairs.
- Must be reachable via a company-provided emergency cell phone after hours to respond to emergencies involving life safety, property damage, or common areas, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Respond to and resolve emergency maintenance issues such as sewer backups, water intrusion, and related incidents.
- Coordinate and ensure proper cleanup, including working with outside vendors when necessary.
- Perform general building operation and maintenance duties, including drywall repair, painting, routine property and building inspections, boiler checks, sprinkler room inspections, fire panel checks, filter and light bulb replacement, and minor plumbing-related repairs.
- Install portable A/C units, pick up supplies, use ladders, and access rooftops for minor repairs.
- Advanced understanding of maintenance equipment, procedures, and techniques.
- Flexible availability for on-call maintenance requests on nights and weekends.
- At least 2 years of maintenance experience.
- Ability to demonstrate understanding of heating and air conditioning units, plumbing systems, and electrical systems.
- Work requires sufficient physical ability to perform building maintenance tasks, including bending, climbing, and lifting.
- Adherence to all applicable safety standards is essential to successfully perform the duties of the position.
