Enterprise Services - Data Management Senior Manager
As a Data Management Senior Manager, you will apply your project management, risk management, data management, product management, and analytical skills to ensure data management operations are executed effectively, and data management risk is mitigated. You will work with data producers and consumers, technical teams, product teams, and risk guides to develop and implement data management practices and risk solutions to ensure Capital One’s data is well-managed in adhering to policies and standards governing data management to mitigate financial, operational, reputational or regulatory impacts.
A Senior Manager partners with leaders and their teams to identify and address potential data risks, process and operational improvement opportunities, and automation improvements in an open, collaborative environment where new ideas and solutions are both welcomed and rewarded.
Enterprise Services DDRO Cyber Risk & Analysis professionals are highly motivated with excellent project management and communication skills and are the first line of defense to help ensure Enterprise Services remains well-managed with respect to data management risk. They have a high level of exposure across multiple Lines of Business and the opportunity to work with leaders to create and implement innovative solutions to drive improvements and mitigate potential risks to the Company.
ResponsibilitiesThis role supports the ES DDRO team. Specifically, this role will:
- Proactively identify and Escalate emerging data risk to the DDRO and ES’ DDOs
- Collaborate effectively across multiple organizations and roles including Enterprise Data Product Teams, Data Producers / Consumers, Business Risk Offices, Audit, and Second Line Risk Management to drive down data risk across Enterprise Services
- Consult with Product and Data Management teams to identify opportunities to streamline, automate and enhance our data governance practices, products, and processes to benefit all divisions
- Monitor, analyze, report, Escalate, and influence permanent remediation of Data Management Health and Governance risk metrics across ES and LOB’s under DDRO purview
- Proactively identify process and automation improvements for Data Management practices
- Lead, develop, and inspire a team of data management professionals
- Partner with EDRM to implement ongoing updates to policy requirements, expand Data Management practices, and adjust related processes and metrics reporting
- Bachelor’s Degree or Military Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in Data Management, Cybersecurity, Technology, Risk Management, External Audit, or a combination
- At least 5 years of experience in project, process, or program management
- At least 5 years of experience supporting, partnering, and interacting with internal or external business clients
- 7 years of experience in Data Management, Cybersecurity, Technology, Risk Management, External Audit, or a combination
- 7 years of managing projects across teams and programs in Risk Management
- 5 years of Technology experience
- 2 years of Data Management experience within the Financial Services Industry
- PMP Certification or Masters Certificate of Project Management (CPM) or Lean Six Sigma Process Certification
- Experience with the following tools:
Google Suite, JIRA, Confluence or other Data Management tools

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $200,700 - $229,100 for Sr. Manager, Cyber Risk & Analysis
Richmond, VA: $182,500 - $208,300 for Sr. Manager, Cyber Risk & Analysis
