About the RoleSteampunk is looking for a Senior Service Now Developer to support one of our federal customers. This leader will help modernize the agency information security program by applying the latest technology to modernize enterprise IT delivery and risk management. The ideal candidate is a self‑starter who enjoys leveraging Service Now to solve real‑world problems and deliver solutions that promote security automation and process improvement.
Responsibilities- Supports the Service Now team to develop and mature CMDB, ITSM, and other modules by organizing and applying updated policy and workflows.
- Drives development of business processes into Service Now applications to create self‑service catalog improvements.
- Develops solutions within the Service Now environment for applications, forms, workflows, UI, Business Rules, ACLs, Catalog Items, and any other Service Now related configurations required to support client process improvements.
- Provides expertise in Service Now data loads, transform maps, and XMLs.
- Provides advanced troubleshooting in Service Now for a variety of difficult software problems and bug fixes.
- Develops and maintains process mapping, depicting processes and workflows across organizational boundaries.
- Translates requirements and develops fully functional features by working closely with the team lead and stakeholders.
- Works with process owners to document current processes and re‑design those processes in custom Service Now workflows to be more efficient.
- Develops and maintains Service Now and JIRA dashboards for performance reporting. Provides ongoing implementation, change management, and strategic communications and documentation support.
- Utilizes Agile methodologies for Service Now development and maintains Dev‑Test‑Prod pipelines.
- Demonstrates strong understanding of API integrations.
- 5‑10+ years of experience supporting Enterprise IT programs.
- Experience with Service Now modules preferred (ITSM, CMDB, etc.).
- Experience with federal policy and NIST RMF a plus.
- Approved technical certification.
- Service Now Certified Systems Administrator (CSA) Required.
- Service Now Certified Application Developer (CAD) Preferred.
Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $120,000 to $175,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
