Compensation
Salary range: $100,000 – $120,000, plus bonus eligibility.
Job Summary
The Vista Report Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions to support business operations across the organization. The role translates business needs into actionable insights using SSRS, Power BI, and SQL-based reporting tools. You will work closely with the Vista Support Manager and business users across operating companies to deliver efficient, accurate, and visually engaging reports.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, and maintain SSRS and Power BI reports and dashboards integrated with the ERP database Vista by Viewpoint.
- Collaborate with business users and the Vista Support Manager to define reporting requirements and deliver analytics aligned with business objectives.
- Manage report-related support tickets from intake to resolution, gathering requirements, defining scope, and ensuring business needs are fully understood.
- Maintain standardized report packages, SQL objects, and shared data sets used across operating companies. Manage version control and deployment through Git Hub and the change‑control process.
- Communicate progress updates, expected timelines, and testing requirements with users and the Vista Support Manager to ensure clear visibility of ticket status and priorities.
- Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and views to support data extraction and reporting.
- Create, maintain, and optimize application reporting needs including VA Inquiries and WF Notifiers.
- Document all report development and modification work, including purpose, data sources, business logic, parameters, and testing notes, to ensure traceability and consistent knowledge sharing within the Vista Support Team.
- Enhance and support existing Crystal Reports, migrating reporting needs to SSRS and Power BI where feasible.
- Assist with the development and configuration of Trimble Analytics datasets and Power BI work spaces.
- Coordinate testing and validation of new reports and dashboards with end users before deployment.

- 5–10 years of experience in report development or data analytics, preferably in construction.
- Knowledge of construction industry operations, safety practices, and job‑cost accounting.
- Hands‑on experience with SSRS, Power BI, and SQL Server databases, views, and stored procedures.
- Experience with Vista by Viewpoint ERP database schema and related reporting tools.
- Experience in Crystal Reports (preferred) and with Trimble Analytics or Power BI Service integrations (plus).
- Excellent communication and documentation skills; ability to interact with both technical and non‑technical users.
- Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, SSRS, Power BI, and Crystal Reports.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Experience with Viewpoint Vista required.
