HR Specialist & Office Manager – Washington DC | Full-Time On-Site Position
We are seeking a dynamic and people-focused HR Specialist & Office Manager to join our growing team in Washington DC
. In this dual‑role position, you will serve as the central point of contact for all human resources operations and office management activities, ensuring our employees feel supported, engaged, and empowered to excel. Human Resources Management:
- Manage the complete employee lifecycle including recruitment coordination, candidate screening, onboarding, and offboarding processes
- Administer employee benefits programs and serve as the primary liaison for benefits‑related inquiries
- Support performance management cycles and performance review processes
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation
- Design and implement employee engagement initiatives and workplace wellness programs to foster a positive organizational culture
- Serve as the go‑to resource for employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits questions
- Ensure compliance with federal and local employment laws, labor regulations, and HR best practices
- Collaborate with international HR teams to align policies and procedures across locations
- Provide strategic HR insights, analytics, and recommendations to senior leadership
Office Management:
- Oversee daily office operations to ensure a productive and efficient workspace environment
- Manage office supplies inventory, vendor relationships, and facility maintenance needs
- Coordinate workplace logistics and ensure optimal office functionality
- Plan and execute team gatherings, company events, and offsite meetings in partnership with leadership
- Support administrative functions and special projects as needed
- U.S. Citizenship required (mandatory requirement due to defense industry contracting)
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 2-4 years of proven experience in human resources, recruitment, office management, or people operations roles
- Startup or high‑growth company experience is a strong plus
- Comprehensive knowledge of HR compliance, employment law, and benefits administration
- Demonstrated ability to balance strategic HR initiatives with hands‑on tactical execution
- Highly organized, proactive, and resourceful with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities
- Genuine passion for people, culture, and employee development
- Comfortable working independently in a fast‑paced, dynamic, and evolving work environment
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
