Company OverviewBy Light is seeking an experienced HPE/ Aruba Network Engineer to perform LAN/WLAN network design, development, installation/configuration, packaging, testing, implementing, and Tier 3 level troubleshooting of multi-vendor network-related equipment in support of government solutions ranging from single stand-alone to large-scale enterprise environments.

The primary responsibility for this position includes all efforts involved with all engineering (designing, developing, configuring, testing, and implementing) tasks associated with a variety of WLAN/LAN task orders involving wireless network solutions in both classified and non-classified environments. Additionally, the candidate will participate in capturing and analyzing technical requirements; documenting detailed system designs, implementation plans, and operations guides of network systems;
participate in both project and operational meetings; providing Tier 3 level support utilizing change control processes. The candidate will also serve as a reach-back to field engineering teams supporting a variety of infrastructure projects.
- Responsible for the research and development of existing and new wireless technologies used to optimize and maintain DOD, commercial and corporate networks, including the design, configuration, implementation, testing and troubleshooting of Wireless and LAN components and networks.
- Work with 3rd party and internal departments in integrating wireless equipment with current WAN and security infrastructure.
- Optimize LAN/WLAN network performance while fulfilling security requirements for user/device authentication, encryption and intrusion detection (e.g., 802.1x RADIUS Authentication using EAP-TLS).
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and modify network hardware and software.
- Provide Tier 3 support for LAN/WLAN networks, client devices, including hand-held devices and associated LAN and WAN connectivity.
- Document installed networks, including systems design, operations and implementation guides, Visio design drawings, etc.
- Maintain the security and integrity of all wireless hardware and software.
- Frequent travel required; when not on site, engineers will assist in developing project plans, designs and documentation for future sites and provide technical reach-back to deployed installation teams.
- Education:
Bachelor's Degree, or AS/AA or two-year Tech School with 2-5 years of experience; or HS/GED with 5+ years of targeted experience; or a BA in a relevant technical area with 5 years of targeted experience. - Minimum 2-5 years of experience in wireless and network communications industry.
- Security+ / DoD 8140 certification level IAT-I (must have within 3 months of hire).
- Current HPE/ Aruba Professional level certification in at least one of the following:
Campus Access, Data Center, Switching, Network Security, Clear Pass, or ACSP. - Familiarity with Survey analysis software and equipment.
- Proficiency with Aruba Air Wave management platform.
- Knowledge of DNS & DHCP functions.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Visio.
- Ability to multi-task and provide daily status updates to supervisors/ managers.
- Self-starter with ability to identify subtasks, prioritize work, and determine tools/materials required within deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to interact well with internal and external engineers, technicians, and customers.
- HPE/ Aruba Certified Architect (Campus Access, Data Center)
- HPE/ Aruba Expert Level (Campus Access Mobility, Campus Access Switching, Network Security)
- Must possess a DoD Secret security clearance or have the ability to obtain one and/or pass an equivalent background check.
- Must be able to stand, stoop, walk and climb ladders as required
- Must be able to lift 35 lbs
