Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Preschool Assistant Teacher to support the lead teacher in creating a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment. The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children and helping them grow socially, emotionally, and academically.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom activities and routines
- Support children during play, learning centers, meals, and transitions
- Encourage positive behavior and social interaction
- Help prepare materials and maintain an organized classroom
- Supervise children to ensure safety at all times
- Maintain cleanliness and follow health and safety procedures
- Communicate respectfully with staff and families
Qualifications
- Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred
- Passion for early childhood education
- Patient, caring, and energetic personality
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass a background check and meet state childcare requirements

- Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
- Location: The T.E.A. Center, McLean, VA
- Schedule: Monday–Friday (hours provided upon hiring)
- Pay: Based on experience
