Job DescriptionHII-Mission Technologies is seeking a highly experienced physician to serve as an independent Medical Operations Oversight Physician in support of contracted medical operations. This role provides clinical oversight, inspection, and assessment of medical services delivered under contract, and serves as an independent check on both the Program Medical Director and subcontracted medical providers.
The Medical Operations Oversight Physician evaluates the quality, compliance, readiness, and execution of medical operations, including emergency medical services, mobile surgical and resuscitative capabilities, critical care evacuation teams (CCET), and pre-hospital care personnel. This is a part-time role and hours will be determined based on work requirements. This part-time position requires travel to operational sites, medical facilities, and program locations, including austere or overseas environments.
What You Will Do- Conduct independent inspections and assessments of medical operations performed under contract to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, clinical standards, and applicable guidance.
- Evaluate the performance and readiness of subcontracted medical providers delivering emergency medical services, mobile surgical and resuscitative teams, CCET capabilities, and EMT-level care.
- Serve as an independent clinical oversight function and check on the Program Medical Director and subcontracted medical organizations.
- Review medical governance structures, credentialing processes, clinical protocols, and quality assurance programs.
- Assess clinical risk, patient safety practices, and adherence to accepted standards of care in austere or operational environments.
- Conduct site visits, observe medical operations, and interview medical personnel as part of inspection activities.
- Review medical documentation, training records, equipment readiness, and staffing models for compliance and sufficiency.
- Identify gaps, deficiencies, and areas of risk; provide written findings, recommendations, and corrective action considerations.
- Support the development and refinement of medical inspection checklists, evaluation criteria, and reporting templates.
- Advise program leadership on medical readiness, operational risk, and compliance trends.
- Coordinate with program leadership, operations staff, and subcontractors to support transparency and resolution of findings.
- Prepare formal inspection reports, executive summaries, and briefings for internal leadership and government stakeholders as required.
- 15+ years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13+ years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19+ years relevant experience.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
- 15+ years of clinical and/or operational medical experience, including significant time in emergency medicine, trauma, critical care, or operational medicine…
