Overview
Kearney & Company is seeking an Accounting Audit Associate to perform audit procedures such as document gathering, data analysis, and deliverable preparation under the supervision of a manager. The role focuses on government client engagements and emphasizes communication, teamwork, and audit excellence.
Responsibilities- Maintain relationships and communicate with key client personnel to understand business operations, processes, and functions.
- Demonstrate an understanding of accounting and auditing concepts and apply them to client situations.
- Bridge the gap between logistics procedures and financial accounting processes.
- Apply innovative methodologies that support an audit engagement.
- Review and evaluate internal controls and supporting documentation.
- Develop solutions for mitigation of internal control deficiencies.
- Determine compliance with policies, laws, and regulations.
- Balance multiple projects concurrently and work effectively in a team environment.
- BA/BS in Accounting or Business Administration with a major in Accounting.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with federal or DOD audit engagements.
- Proficient skills in MS Excel.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Interim Secret security clearance.
- CPA highly desirable.
- Experience working with financial statement audits.
The expected salary range for this position is between $60,000 and $78,000. This range is representative of base pay only and does not include straight time pay for hours worked over 40 per week, company contributions to paid benefits, and/or bonuses. Actual compensation will be determined based on specific experience, education, work location, clearance level, and other factors permitted by law.
