Position OverviewWe are seeking a Texas DPS Licensed Access Control / Alarm Technician to support installation, service, and troubleshooting of access control, video surveillance, and related security systems. You’ll work directly with the CEO on projects ranging from small retrofits (camera replacements, access door additions) to new installs (multi-camera systems, gate readers).
Compensation- Pay Range: $28.00 – $32.00 per hour (Based on experience & licensing).
- Travel Allowance: Calculated as time of the task.
- Overtime: 1.5 times the regular hourly pay rate.

). - Commission: 5% commission on Alarm and Access Control contracts.

- Installation & Config: Install, configure, and service access control systems, CCTV/IP cameras, NVRs, card readers, and intercoms.
- Cabling: Expertly run and terminate cabling (CAT6, Coax, Low-Voltage) in both new construction and finished retrofit environments.
- Optimization: Mount, aim, and focus cameras to ensure 100% coverage; set up remote viewing and AI analytics.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose hardware/software issues on-site and provide timely resolutions.
- Site Surveys: Assist with walkthroughs to document equipment needs, cable paths, and potential obstacles.
- Professionalism: Maintain a clean, safe work environment and provide basic user training to clients upon project completion.
- Experience: 2+ years with access control/CCTV/low-voltage wiring.
- HVAC Monitoring & Fire Alarm: Proven experience in installing and repairing HVAC monitoring devices and fire alarm systems.
- Licensure:
Active Texas DPS Security License required
. TDLR low-voltage license is a plus. - Pre-Employment: Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Networking: Strong understanding of IP networking basics (switches, PoE, camera setup).
- Technical
Skills:
Ability to read and interpret floor plans and wiring diagrams. - Tools: Must have own basic hand and power tools (drills, testers, ladders).
- Mobility: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (Truck/Van preferred).
- Communication: Strong professional communication skills with clients.
- Video & AI Platforms: Experience with brands like Rhombus,Hanwha Vision, Google Nest, Ring (X-Line),, Montavue, Avigilon, Axis, Hikvision, Solink, AIBase, Coram, and Deep Sentinel.
- Advanced Tech: Familiarity with cloud-based VMS platforms, gate access systems, and LPR (license plate recognition).
- Innovation: Work with the latest technology in the industry, including AI cameras and cloud-based automation.
- Growth: As a rapidly scaling company, there is significant potential to move into a Lead Technician or Project Management role.
