Job DescriptionUtilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, the Registered Nurse cares for patients of all ages who are experiencing changes in the normal health process. The RN participates in the patient/family care and experience through critical thinking, teamwork, effective communication, and nursing knowledge and skill. Responsibilities include accurate documentation, adherence to policies and procedures, and contributing to the successful operation of the shift in accordance with Texas Board of Nursing standards.
EssentialJob Functions
- Provides patient‑focused nursing care of the acutely ill orCRUD patient, utilizing the core nursing process and accurate documentation.
- Ensures patient care is holistic, compassionate, and meets clinical and spiritual/emotional needs.
- Triages and prioritizes patient care based on acuity level and available resources, implementing care plans and communicating patient condition.
- Works collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care, fostering positive relationships and ensuring delegated tasks are within scope.
- Maintains awareness of and adheres to current policies, procedures, and regulatory guidance from Premier, Texas Department of State Health Services, Board of Nurse Examiners بناء, and CLIA.
- Adheres to laboratory procedures, safety guidelines, and specimen processing protocols.
- Provides basic respiratory services, including capnography, pulse oximetry, supplemental oxygen, and nebulized treatments.
- Utilizes critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Maintains composure under stress and adapts to changes in the workplace.
- Facilitates patient transfer and discharge.
- Participates in development of departmental policies and related documentation.
- Attends unit meetings and disseminates information to team members.
- Participates in staff assessment, performance evaluations, and promotes ongoing staff education.
- Executes other duties as assigned, including participation in professional development.
- Regularly required to hear and speak; sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger and reach, lift more than 10 lbs.
- Occasionally required to lift and move up to 25 lbs., climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Requires close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision, constant decision‑making, and concentration.
- Must possess and maintain a current Registered Nurse License in Texas (or a compact license with Texas).
- Current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS and PALS certification (obtain تست within first 30 days).
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- At least 2 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in an Emergency Department setting.
Knowledge of current federal and state laws and regulations that apply to freestanding emergency centers, strong organizational and time‑management skills, and the ability to prioritize responsibilities.
