Electronics Technician, Test Engineer
PGS Worldwide is seeking a Test Technician in McKinney, TX for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This role supports testing, troubleshooting, and verification of advanced electronic products using detailed work instructions, test procedures, and engineering documentation. You will work hands-on with a wide range of electronic test equipment, document results, and collaborate with cross-functional teams while maintaining a strong safety and ESD focus.
Required Skills
HS Diploma or AA/AS degree OR equivalent post secondary technical training
Minimum 2 years of experience in electronics testing, troubleshooting, or military electronics training
Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings
Experience with RF, digital, and analog testing
Ability to perform software and firmware loads
Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision
No clearance required while on contract
Must be able to obtain a clearance if converted to a direct employee
Ability to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods
Ability to lift and move materials as needed (up to 25–50 lbs)
Ability to work in a lab or production floor environment with electronic equipment
Ability to use hands and fingers for handling components, tools, and test equipment
Must follow all safety and ESD (electrostatic discharge) protocols
Preferred Skills
Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, spectrum analyzers, Automated Test Equipment (ATE), collimators, inframeters, and pulse generators
Familiarity with SAP or other test data systems
Soldering or rework skills (may be required depending on assignment)
Flexibility to support multiple shifts and weekend work once trained
Strong safety mindset and ability to adapt in a fast paced environment
What You’ll Do
Perform product testing using detailed work instructions, test procedures, and engineering documents
Set up and operate a wide range of electronic test equipment
Troubleshoot electronic assemblies and components
Load software and firmware as part of testing processes
Document test results accurately and thoroughly
Move materials on and off test platforms as needed
Collaborate with cross functional teams and maintain a strong safety focus
Work Schedule / Shift
1st shift: 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Pay Rate: $26.39)
2nd shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM (Pay Rate: $28.50)
3rd shift: 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM (Pay Rate: $29.56)
Training may occur on 1st shift
Weekend work may be required after training is complete
