Overview
Associate Press Operator – Weekend Shift at Simpson Strong-Tie. This role is part of a team focused on safety, quality, efficiency, LEAN principles, and production goals.
YOUAs a Press Operator you will be responsible for operating a progressive stamping press to achieve safety, quality, efficiency, LEAN, and production goals.
ShiftWeekend Shift Hours are Fri - Sun 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM. You will receive a $2.50 shift differential for every hour worked.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (percent of time)- Operate any and all presses as needed to support department and company goals. (80%)
- Perform quality inspections to drawings and specifications per procedures and maintain a clean work environment. Use air or electric powered hand tools and make adjustments to equipment as necessary.
- Count, package and palletize finished product in accordance with work orders. Material handling of cartons, labels, coils of steel, pallets and packaging tape.
- Assist other personnel with press set-ups and changeovers. Communicate with department leadership regarding issues and improvements. (20%)
If you can do everything listed above, you’ve got what it takes. The following are helpful:
- High school diploma or GED is required
- One month of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and training
- Safety:
Able to demonstrate safe work practices and promote a safe work environment. Able to safely operate manual pallet jack. - Attendance:
Reliable, punctual attendance - Mathematical reasoning:
Basic Algebra and Geometry; ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals - Reading comprehension:
Able to read and write simple correspondence and follow instructions - Analysis/reasoning:
Interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form - Communication:
Able to communicate one-on-one and in small groups - Measurements:
Able to read a tape measure to 1/32” tolerance, use combination squares for angles to +/- 1 degree, and read a micrometer

Physical RequirementsRegularly stand, walk, see, talk, and hear. Occasionally sit. May operate large equipment while standing for 8-12 hours, with repetitive twisting and bending. May frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, with heavier weights using proper equipment.

Pay$19.00 / hour
