Role OverviewCould you be our next Privacy Analyst
? Globe Life is looking for a Privacy Analyst to join the team! In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the operations of the Privacy Office within the Compliance Department, ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal privacy laws, industry standards, and internal policies. The Privacy Analyst will play a key role in assisting with privacy incident response, data subject access requests, privacy education, and policy and procedure development initiatives.
Additionally, the Privacy Analyst will provide privacy leaders with accurate, timely, and relevant information to enable informed decisions.
This is a hybrid position located in McKinney, Texas (WFH Monday & Friday, In Office Tuesday-Thursday).
What You Will Do- In partnership with other stakeholders, assist with privacy incident response, including intake, investigations, documentation, and resolution.
- Support with triaging the privacy mailbox, ensuring timely and accurate responses to internal and external privacy-related inquiries.
- Track privacy metrics and mailbox trends to identify areas for process improvement and training.
- Ensure privacy forms, policies, standards, and procedures are up-to-date, accurate, and within risk tolerance levels.
- Conduct initial and periodic assessments of information privacy risks, analyze them, mitigate and remediate any identified issues.
- Conduct related ongoing privacy compliance monitoring activities in coordination with the organization's other compliance and operational assessment functions.
- Ensure the organization maintains appropriate privacy and confidentiality consents, authorization forms, information notices, and other materials reflecting current organization legal practices and requirements.
- Work cross-functionally with Security, IT, Infrastructure, Data Governance, Compliance, and Sales to provide guidance on the effectiveness of privacy controls.
- Assist with administrative aspects of privacy requests (logging, tracking, and coordination).
- Initiate, facilitate, and promote activities to foster information privacy awareness within the organization and related entities.
- Provide guidance to internal business partners regarding compliance with privacy regulations (SME).
- Coordinate and collaborate with regulatory and compliance functions.
- Provide recommendations on privacy processes pertaining to Privacy Incident Investigations and Response, Privacy Program Assurance and Audits, Privacy Impact and Risk Assessments, and Stakeholder Communication and Management under the guidance of the privacy manager.
- Stay current with privacy-related news, trends, and changes to policies through research and communication within the privacy community of practice.
- Stay informed on applicable privacy laws and accreditation standards.
- Proactively and effectively communicate ideas and recommendations for optimizing business operations, resources, and capacity to meet internal and external compliance goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Some travel may be required.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience in the Privacy field.
- 3+ years in a Privacy and/or GRC-related role preferred.
- CIPP/US is preferred.
- Strong investigative, research, and writing skills.
- Familiar with relevant privacy laws and regulations (CCPA, PIPEDA, GDPR, HIPAA) preferred.
- Able to communicate clear and precise explanations of team policies and protocols.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to use a combination of analysis, experience, and judgment to develop feasible solutions.
- Able to summarize complex information into business-friendly terms.
- Excellent time and project management skills with the ability to work under multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Must possess a high level of integrity and professionalism.
- Familiar with relevant legislation and standards for the protection of information.
- Ability to act independently, take initiative, and work at times with minimal supervision.
- Reliable and predictable attendance of your assigned shift.
- Ability to work designated hours based on the position specifications.
