Posted DateRole SummaryThe Material and Process Engineering team located in McKinney, Texas, promotes process and product improvement through material development, in‑process verification and analytical services. The position supports the Non‑Metallics Test Lab (NMTL), responsible for testing materials such as plastics, composites, rubbers, and molded parts. The candidate will perform ASTM‑standard mechanical and thermal tests, void content measurements, report preparation, and tool maintenance.
Responsibilities- Perform material testing in both mechanical and thermal attributes (short‑beam shear, flatwise tensile, 4‑point bending, lap shear, etc.)
- Conduct shelf‑life recertification and in‑process verification coupon testing
- Collaborate with multi‑functional teams to support program integration from development to validation testing
- Prepare and submit formal analysis reports
- Maintain tools and prepare for audits
U.S. citizenship required. Security clearance not required.
Qualifications You Must Have- Associate of Science (AS) degree or higher in STEM or equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least 6 years of related work experience
- Knowledge of lab analytical tools (universal testing machines, thermal analysis, optical microscopy, etc.)
- Experience with a variety of lab equipment including universal testing machines, thermal analysis tools, optical microscopes
- Understanding of drawings and relevant industry standards
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, mechanical fabrication and assembly drawings
- Problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently
- Leadership experience through school, extracurricular projects, or work
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to multi‑task
$53,100 – $100,900 USD.
