The Surveillance Manufacturing Engineering organization drives business success by providing a variety of critical engineering services across all Raytheon Intelligence & Space product lines and functions. We are a team of innovators, creators and strategists drawing inspiration from each other every day.

The Manufacturing Engineering Department centers on development and production support assembly methods, materials, and processes for current and next generation microwave and mmWave products, with a very heavy emphasis on cutting‑edge automation and materials. You will work closely with product engineers, quality engineers, reliability engineers, tooling engineers, industrial engineers, and operations leaders on product manufacturing. Team responsibilities include developing and implementing materials and processes, process improvements, and production support using established statistical process control techniques, experimental designs, material analysis, mechanical design analysis, and root cause analysis.

Evaluation of materials, equipment, and processes (including qualification, acceptance testing, and specification development) will be required including interfacing with key internal and external suppliers to resolve technical issues.

What You Will Do
  • Support current low-volume high-mix production with on‑site responsiveness to factory equipment, process, materials, and product problems.
  • Factory production execution support includes developing and implementing well‑controlled processes using data‑driven methods such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) and writing shop process documentation.
  • Develop and execute new product builds typically with automated equipment, often requiring creative solutions for next‑generation product designs.
  • Ensure processes developed and executed meet product quality requirements (J‑STD‑001, MIL‑STD‑883, MIL‑PRF‑38534, IPC, etc.).
  • Process improvement projects to improve factory productivity through leveraging new technologies, investigating and qualifying new materials, and more.
  • Effective cross‑functional communication of technical information.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2‑year post‑high school training) with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience.
  • Manufacturing experience with surface mount technology (SMT), microelectronics and automated assembly equipment.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Process development and qualification experience.
  • Experience with J‑STD‑001, MIL‑STD‑883, MIL‑PRF‑38534, and IPC standards.
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC), statistical data analysis experience, Design of Experiments (DOE) techniques.
  • Experience with operator instructions, process and/or material qualification reports, equipment vendor statement of works, etc.
  • Experience working in a Cleanroom.
  • Experience with material properties or automated equipment.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point).
