Role OverviewCould you be our next New Business Specialist
? Globe Life is looking for a New Business Specialist to join the team!
The New Business Specialist is responsible for reviewing Life and Health new business applications for insurance coverage, from receipt to final status in accordance with established procedures and guidelines in a timely manner and meeting departmental quality/production standards. This role is also responsible for reviewing of documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with each state. The New Business Specialist will get all applications prepared for processing by the Underwriting Department.
This is an on-site position located in McKinney, Texas.
What You Will Do- Daily review and preparation of new business applications received in office; and correspondence to team on incoming business.
- Communicate issues with writing agent and follow up on any outstanding items.
- Scan and index all supplemental and life applications including pended items into Onbase.
- Be in constant communication with team concerning incoming documents from agents for new business and corrections.
- Be responsible for issuance of all pending applications that are received in the office.
- Assemble and mail CWL policies weekly.
- Complete processes for errors, pending and withdrawn applications.
- Assist with complaint research, follow-up and resolution.
- Effectively communicate with agents and agency owners regarding new business submissions, pending business, or missing documents by phone and/or email.
- Assist with clearing pends from the pend list as needed.
- Update account information and input data from submitted paperwork.
- Review and analyze all New Business for group additions and make determination of effective date and agent advance.
- Make group additions phone calls to verify eligibility of employee(s) applying for coverage.
- Send out additions letter with copy of payroll form when applicable.
- Prepare new group business for billing representative to make contact with Payroll administrator and create new profile set up.
- Evaluate each Group for bill payment delinquency and update any pertinent information related to the group.
- Review each application for proper documentation including payroll group agreement and payroll authorization forms.
- Ability to type 25-30 wpm.
- Ability to professionally handle and resolve escalated issues.
- Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
- Must possess a professional, friendly attitude and be able to quickly develop rapport with agents and agency owners.
- Ability to ask probing questions, understand concerns, and overcome objections.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to learn new computer systems.
- Commitment to the successful achievement of team and organizational goals through a desire to participate with and help other members of the team.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
