Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in McKinney, Texas. In this role, you will contribute to maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with corporate tax regulations. This position is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills and a commitment to supporting the financial operations of the organization.

Responsibilities:

- Perform reconciliations for payroll accounts, disbursement accounts, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.

- Assist with the preparation and filing of corporate tax returns, including sales tax documentation.

- Create and post journal entries to maintain accurate records in the general ledger.

- Support the monthly closing process by managing financial data and preparing required reports.

- Utilize accounting software such as Quick Books Enterprise Desktop and Office Suite to streamline daily tasks.

- Collaborate with team members to address accounting discrepancies and improve processes.

- Provide general support to the accounting department, ensuring smooth operations and compliance with financial standards.

- Monitor and analyze financial transactions to identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

- Assist with tax-related tasks, including corporate tax filings and sales tax calculations. Requirements - Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an accounting role.

- A degree in Accounting is preferred but not mandatory.

- Proficiency in Office Suite and Quick Books Enterprise Desktop.

- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with team members.

- Experience with corporate tax filings and sales tax documentation.

- Skilled in preparing journal entries and maintaining the general ledger.

- Ability to perform account reconciliations with precision and attention to detail.

- Familiarity with monthly closing processes and financial reporting requirements.
