Job Description
Collin County is seeking an exceptional candidate for an Accounts Payable Technician. The Accounts Payable Technician is responsible for auditing invoices and requests to be processed as payment through an automated system. This process includes the review of purchase orders for correct account assignment, matching invoices to purchase orders for accuracy of product charged and cost calculations, entering data on receipt of goods and accounts charged for expenses into computer system, reviewing disbursement reports and balance against original invoice or affidavit, working with departments for supporting documents, forwarding documents to departments for review, as required, and imaging all documents after check run for digital review and analysis.
Performs other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate must have the ability to interact with departments and vendors to resolve invoice and payment questions. Perform other duties as required. Work is performed under the direction of the Accounts Payable Supervisor.
Work requires a broad knowledge in accounting. At least two years of accounting or bookkeeping experience and a high school diploma or equivalent is required. Candidates must possess and maintain a valid Texas Operator's Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
