JOB TITLE:
DIRECTOR, HUMAN RESOURCES
The Director of Human Resources is responsible for providing firsthand leadership in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the areas of succession planning, talent management, recruitment, organizational and performance management, training and development, benefits, compliance and compensation.
The Director of Human Resources provides strategic leadership to the executive management team and is an active member thereof, as well as providing the day-to-day management of the human resources functions.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned.) Human Resources Department ManagementPlan, develop, implement, direct, and evaluate the organization’s HR function, staff, policies, and programs that support organizational strategic goals. Manage the budget, financial measures, and business metrics of human resources. Maintain and regulate all compliance related matters.
Training and DevelopmentMaintain and develop a comprehensive talent plan including training and development to support the ongoing growth of the organization. Maintain and enhance the performance management and review program.
Recruiting and RetentionDevelop comprehensive strategic recruiting/on‑boarding and retention plans to meet the human capital needs, including ongoing training development and curriculum review.
CompensationEnsure that a cost‑effective compensation philosophy and program is in place to meet the talent requirements of the organization in attaining and retaining employees.
Employee RelationsInterview workers and discuss personnel, human relations, and work‑related problems that adversely affect morale, health, and productivity. Evaluate and resolve human relations, labor relations, and work‑related problems, and work with management to determine appropriate action.
Benefits and Compensation/Plan Administrator 401(k) ProgramDevelop, implement, and manage company benefit programs in consultation with management to provide cost‑effective insurance coverage and competitive benefit options.
Administer payroll system including wage and benefit changes, payroll distribution, attendance and vacation records, benefit eligibility, and enrollment. Plan Administrator for Fabrïk Industries 401k Plan.
Legal and ComplianceReview and update current policies to assure they are reflective of the needs and goals of the company as well as being in compliance with current law. Monitor changes in law and requirements and advise management of new developments. Ensure legal compliance with various governmental laws and regulations covering labor relations, OSHA, EEOC, safety, wage and hour and workers’ compensation.
Organizational DevelopmentDefine, develop, and communicate changes of policies and procedures to address the needs of the company per proper compliance.
Work with supervisors and managers on employee counseling, educational needs, and programs as well as formulating and presenting disciplinary actions. Provide supervisors and managers with employee performance evaluation forms upon request or on a pre‑determined schedule.
SafetyInvestigate, file appropriate reports, and follow through with employee injuries and Workers’ Compensation Claims.
Track and report OSHA required data regarding workplace accidents.
Serve as a member of the Safety Committee.
Qualifications10 or more years of progressive responsibilities in HR management, with a minimum of three years at the director level or above. Must have strong HR generalist skills.
Masters degree (or bachelor's degree with commensurate experience) in Business Administration or Human Resources. SPHR/PHR certification a plus.
Strong people skills and ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated ability to react quickly to changing needs and requirements. Diligent and firm with high ethical standards.
Ability to think strategically and manage the detailed day‑to‑day work of the human resources department.
Thorough knowledge of employment legislation and regulations.
