Overview

The Sales Account Manager maintains and expands sales revenue relationships with targeted commercial market clients and manages the process for providing their specific architectural design products. The SAM is responsible for generating new business (obtaining design placements) by working directly with clients and estimating / preparing pricing quotes, reviewing take-offs, and coordinating projects to meet their specifications. They will also provide creative input in the pursuit of Toppan's brand image in the industry through collateral materials, trade shows and exhibits and face-to-face customer contacts.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel at assigned customer accounts.
  • Meet assigned targets for sales volume, profitability, and strategic objectives with assigned accounts.
  • Proactively assess, clarify and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Develop strategic sales objectives that meet company plans.
  • Communicate with and follow up with clients regarding specific projects and goals, based upon information gathered from the supply chain that impacts the schedule of the project.
  • Ensure all aspects of client projects are properly and thoroughly documented.
  • Ensure that purchase orders received are compatible with previously submitted price quotes and take-offs.
  • Take part in face-to-face customer interviews and presentations for the purpose of communicating value propositions based upon market intelligence.
  • Monitor market volume / conditions as required to keep in tune with customers  activity and attend periodic meetings to inform and advise.
  • Daily interaction with the designated CSR on order placements, inventory, pricing and production timelines.
  • Periodic meetings with design, as well as production, purchasing and sales teams.
  • Conduct ongoing competitive analysis (sales, design, strategy, pricing and product development).
  • Travel to TIA one week per quarter (minimum) to attend sales meetings and to work with various departments on open issues with assigned clients. Additional customer meetings at TIA may be required.
  • Prepare weekly sales summary report on previous week s activities and upcoming visits to customers
  • Submit Sales Projections to Management, annually or upon request.
  • Identify and monitor market analysis materials and sources to gather concept ideas for the team, such as magazines and periodicals, trade show events, websites and customer interviews.
  • Develop and maintain a good working knowledge of the production and design capabilities of TIA and Toppan Japan and communicate with key stakeholders in both the USA and Japan.
  • Assist the design department in the upkeep of customer product line samples.
  • Identify and resolve project issues, scheduling meetings as needed to keep projects on schedule.
  • Other duties as assigned or required to meet client deliverables.
Qualifications

  • Education and/or

    Experience:

    Bachelor s degree, or equivalent work experience and 5 years of Sales and/or Project Management / Estimating experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.

    This position requires accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business reports, documents and technical procedures. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers. Ability to read / understand take-offs. Ability to travel on business as needed, typically once per month.
