The CNC Saw Jet Technician is responsible for the full technical ownership of the Fusion CNC Saw Jet system, including advanced machine operation, preventative maintenance, production optimization, and quality assurance. This role serves as the subject matter expert for Saw Jet operations within the shop and plays a critical role in ensuring machine uptime, yield optimization, and consistent production performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Machine Operation & Production Leadership- Independently operate and oversee all production activities on the Fusion CNC Saw Jet.
- Interpret shop drawings, layouts, and programming files to validate cut accuracy.
- Perform and oversee all daily and Level 1–8 preventative maintenance procedures.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues.
- Inspect slabs and finished tops for quality.
- Train and mentor entry-level and developing Saw Jet operators.
- Maintain production schedules and minimize downtime.
- Follow OSHA and company safety standards.
- Identify and correct unsafe conditions immediately.
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibility but may provide technical guidance and training to other operators.
Education, Experience & Qualifications- Minimum 3–5 years operating CNC or waterjet equipment required.
- Stone or granite fabrication experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to run equipment independently.
- Experience performing preventative machine maintenance.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and material handling.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly (heavier materials moved with equipment).
- Ability to work in a production environment with noise and dust exposure.
- Stone fabrication manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to moving machinery, industrial equipment, and stone materials.
- Required use of PPE at all times.
