The purpose of this position is to perform general custodial and janitorial duties to keep the aquatics facility, surrounding areas, entrances/exits, and center vehicles clean and presentable to the public.
- Assures recreation building is unlocked during business hours and locked and secured by setting alarms after hours.
- Sets up for programs, inside and outside of buildings, and cleans after programs are completed.
- Assist with supplies orders and maintain supply inventory.
- Sweeps, mops, waxes floors; cleans and disinfects all restrooms, sinks, and water fountains; empties trash; cleans offices.
- Cleans furniture, glass, and mirrors; raises and lowers flags; cleans surrounding areas of facility to include parking lots; sweeps entrance ramps and porches; replaces bulbs; makes minor emergency repairs as needed; reports repairs to Deputy Administrator and Coordinator
- Unloads packages, donations and other items delivered to facility and places in designated areas
- Assists in kitchen clean-up and with laundering duties, when necessary.
- Assists with maintenance of pool areas.
- Keeps daily maintenance checklist and supply of necessary forms; completes required forms for completed jobs.
- Communicates with supervisor, other employees, County department heads, outside agencies and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED; minimum of one (1) year experience in building maintenance; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job.
Licenses or CertificationsMust possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.

The work is moderate work which requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally. Requires mental acuity including the ability to make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes, the ability to express ideas by means of the spoken word and have close visual acuity.
WORK ENVIRONMENTWork is performed in a relatively safe, and secure work environment. Depending on area of assignment, performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, bright/dim lights.
