Medical Assistant (CMA/LPN/EMT) – McDonough, GA
Peachtree Immediate Care has an immediate opening for a Certified Medical Assistant at our McDonough location. This is a full‑time position with three 12‑hour shifts, including rotating weekend shifts. Availability to float between the McDonough, Stockbridge, and Morrow clinics is required.

The role ensures high standards of care by serving as a liaison between patients and medical providers. We seek a caring, courteous, detail‑oriented individual with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to perform basic medical procedures while maintaining confidentiality.
Centers are open seven days a week from 8 am – 8 pm, offering walk‑in care for injuries, illnesses, and minor emergencies, as well as family care for both adults and children.
Basic FunctionCommunicate and interact effectively with a wide variety of personnel and patients. Under general supervision, the Clinical Support Team assists the Physician, Physician Assistant (PA, PA‑C), or Nurse Practitioner (NP, FNP) in urgent‑care and occupational‑medicine services. Day‑to‑day activities vary from patient intake to performing lab work, x‑rays, medication administration, and assisting in minor surgery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Demonstrate high‑level interpersonal and communication skills to greet visitors, patients, & staff professionally.
- Perform duties within scope of practice.
- Maintain quality‑control & compliance measures set by CRH Healthcare.
- Keep equipment clean & in safe condition.
- Prepare & maintain exam & treatment rooms with necessary instruments.
- Prepare patients for examination, documenting complaints, vital signs, medications, & allergies accurately.
- Initiate care before provider exam according to standing orders.
- Perform lab tests as directed by provider.
- Administer medications via PO, SQ, IM, intradermal, eye/ear drops, or topical as ordered.
- Perform venipuncture per policy & apply dressings as instructed.
- Follow procedures for occupational health services where applicable.
- Follow procedures for radiographic image collection where applicable.
- Provide direct patient care as instructed by provider.
- Ensure proper consents are obtained & signed.
- Prepare & maintain supplies & equipment for treatments.
- Assist provider in preparing for minor surgeries & exams.
- Perform wound care as instructed.
- Assist with scheduling of tests, treatments, & referrals.
- Alleviate patient fears & answer questions as needed.
- Cooperate with other hospital departments & physicians’ offices.
- Follow medication administration & narcotic‑control procedures.
- Communicate concerns about appropriateness of care through command chain.
- Suggest improvements to work methods.
- Perform other duties within scope of practice.
- Patient discharge, including review of discharge instructions.
- Answer telephone calls per department standards & document.
- Complete routine equipment checks & restock supplies; notify staff of orders.
- Attend in‑service & educational conferences, quarterly staff meetings.
- Maintain current knowledge & skills.
- Follow safety & infection‑control standards.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant school; certification preferred.
- Licensed practitioners (LPN, EMT, Basic Machine Operator, Radiologic Technologist) must graduate from an accredited school and hold current state licensure.
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Reliable transportation to regional offices.
- Work independently, as part of a team, and with patients in a high‑paced facility.
- Escort or transport patients by wheelchair when appropriate.
- Work all shifts, including day, evening, & weekend hours as needed.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word & Excel).
- Detail‑oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Prefer a minimum of 1‑2 years in an outpatient/clinic setting. Duties are performed under direct supervision of a medical provider and vary based on formal training and state regulations.
Working ConditionsWork in clean, well‑lit, heated, air‑conditioned areas. Exposure to unpleasant sights, smells, and infectious diseases is possible. The schedule depends on department needs; holiday & weekend work as necessary.
