Overview

Summary

Please read the qualifications before submission. Candidates must have minimum requirements for consideration. General Education and Adaptive Instruction. We do not provide Modified Instruction. All instruction will be in-person. This position is for K-8 Academic Teachers with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university. Interviews are on-site.

Qualifications
  • General

    Education:

    English & Social Studies or Math & History to provide instructional guidance to students in a K-12 environment
  • All candidates must have minimum qualifications to be considered. Interviews are done on-site
  • Current academic education, experience working in an educational classroom, and direct instruction to students in a K-5 environment (no exceptions)
  • Strong professional presence when dealing with students, staff, and parents
  • Note:

    We will consider Education majors in their last semester with verified transcript credits
  • All transcripts, education, and work history will be verified
  • Salary will align with educational background, current/valid certifications, and experience
Duties
  • Prepare reports on students and activities as required by administration
  • Instruct students individually and in groups using various teaching methods
  • Maintain current knowledge and ability to create a rubric for student success
  • Assign and grade class work and homework; prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments
  • Confer with parents, guardians, staff, counselors, and administrators to resolve behavioral and academic problems
  • Meet with parents and guardians to discuss progress and determine priorities
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws and district policies
  • Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order
  • Observe and evaluate students  performance, behavior, social development, and health
  • Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities
  • Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet varying needs
  • Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time
  • Establish clear objectives for all lessons and communicate them to students
  • Read books to classes or groups
  • Prepare students for later grades by encouraging exploration and perseverance
  • Guide and counsel students with adjustment or academic problems or special interests
  • Prepare and implement remedial programs for students needing extra help
  • Prepare objectives and outlines for courses of study following curriculum guidelines
  • Provide a variety of materials and resources for students to explore
  • Enforce administration policies and rules governing students
  • Collaborate with staff to plan and schedule lessons following approved curricula
  • Meet with other professionals to discuss individual students  needs and progress
  • Use computers, audio-visual aids, and other tools to supplement presentations
  • Prepare for assigned classes and show written evidence of preparation
  • Collaborate with teachers and administrators in development and evaluation of programs
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment to prevent injuries
  • Organize activities promoting physical, mental, and social development
  • Attend professional meetings and training to maintain competence
  • Plan and supervise class projects, field trips, and guest speaker activities
  • Organize and label materials and display students  work
  • Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required
  • Administer standardized tests and interpret results to determine strengths and needs
  • Supervise and evaluate teacher assistants and volunteers
  • Involve parent volunteers and older students in activities
  • Perform administrative duties such as library, hall and cafeteria monitoring, and supervising pickups
  • Select, store, order, issue, and inventory classroom equipment, materials, and supplies
  • Provide assistive devices and resources for students
  • Sponsor extracurricular activities
Requirements
  • Knowledge and experience of daily planning protocols, chunking/scaffolding, and presenting materials clearly; creating a rubric is required
  • Proficient use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google products (Sheets)
  • Desire to teach and support academic learners in a small environment
  • Flexibility, multitasking, and ability to redirect activities with children
  • Punctuality and professional communication with staff, parents, and colleagues
  • Clean background and driving history; reliable transportation

Benefits
  • Contract position with a 90-day probationary period
  • Benefits after probation period include paid birthday (if it falls on a weekday while in school)
  • 6 federal paid holidays (aligned with in-school calendar)
  • Hours:

    7:30 AM – 2:30 PM, Fridays 7:30 AM – 12:30 PM
  • 3-day summer schedule (Tu, Wed, Thurs) with 2 weeks paid hiatus
  • Flexible hours based on class schedule; no weekends
