Provide leadership and coordination for the K-12 Band, Chorus, Music, Theatre, Dance, and Visual Arts programs in order to provide each student enrolled in the district access to high quality fine arts instruction.
Essential Duties- Contribute to the development, articulation, evaluation, revision, and implementation of the K –12 curriculum as appropriate, in collaboration with other district office personnel.
- Expand Fine Arts programs to increase K-12 opportunities, access to quality programming, and academic outcomes.
- Provide guidance, advice, and support to building administration in matters pertaining to associated educational programs, including initiating and implementing new programs.
- Coordinate projects with cross-departmental and cross-divisional curriculum coordinators, program support staff, and administrators.
- Contribute to the development and monitoring of program and special project budgets as assigned, ensuring compliance with budget related rules, regulations, and legal requirements.
- Support improvement of student achievement results at local schools through professional development and the deployment of appropriate resources (i.e. material, technological, and human resources).
- Ensure Board policies related to Fine Arts program are reflective of current practices and expectations.
- Supervise, support and evaluate assigned staff to support improved performance in reaching district and school goals.
- Effectively articulate curricular and instructional goals, program, initiatives, and results to internal and external groups including teachers, administrators, community members, and the educational community.
- Budget resources (funding, time, human resources, technology) appropriately to achieve district priorities, and support and monitor local, state, and federal guidelines, rules, and procedures for effective and appropriate management of funds.
- Lead assigned strategic plan initiatives and tactics.
- Coordinate assigned district-wide events.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Georgia Educator Certificate in one or more of the Fine Arts, required;
Leadership Certification, required. - Minimum of three years teaching experience, required.
- Ability to work well with teachers, school administrative teams, and district office leadership.
- Must possess a proven track record of building and maintaining strong professional relationships.
- Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.
- Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
- Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
- Ability to be present at the physical worksite.
Must perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting. - Must perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
- Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
