Description
The purpose of this position is to supervise, coordinate, perform and assist with all maintenance items and tasks associated with the repair, scheduled diagnostic/adjustments, and installation of all heavy and minor equipment, pool-life safety, security, other systems and related equipment at Henry County aquatic facilities.

Examples of Duties
  • Supervises employees to include hiring, firing, and performance management of additional designated maintenance staff. Supervision also includes new employee on-boarding and training, on-going formal and informal performance evaluation, and instructing and advising staff of employee procedures and guidelines
  • Reviews job requests and work orders daily to determine workload priorities.
  • Supervises corrective and preventive maintenance activities on MEP systems to provide continuous supply of HVAC, electricity, gas, and other utilities required for daily aquatic operations
  • Performs routine facility inspections for conformance with operational and safety requirements and standards.
  • Implements, monitors, and follows policies and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and provide efficient use of labor and materials.
  • Prepares purchase orders for needed materials, equipment and supplies
  • Provides training and orientation of staff to improve work performance, provide safety, and acquaint workers with company and client policies and procedures
  • Informs and confers with Deputy Administrator and Aquatics Coordinator to resolve maintenance problems and personnel issues and recommends measures to improve operations
  • Keeps Deputy Administrator and Aquatics Coordinator informed of the progress and status of all open work orders, projects, staff attendance, and other activities to help ensure adequate use of resources and timely completion of work orders in a cost-effective manner
  • Ensures compliance with OSHA regulations and standards
  • Responds to all emergencies as requested
  • Conducts regular quality control inspections of work orders, to determine the effectiveness of the work being done
  • Receives and distributes incoming supply shipments
  • Maintains up-to-date records of all supply and equipment inventory
  • Operates a personal computer to enter, retrieve, review, or modify data, utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, Internet, e-mail, or other software; and operates general office or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions.
  • Communicates with supervisor, other employees, County department heads, outside agencies and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:

High School Diploma/GED required or have completed advanced training/certified training program in building maintenance, and skilled trades or other related experience required (proof of completion may be requested). Minimum of two years of skilled commercial maintenance experience in one or more of the technical areas of HVAC, Electrical, Electronics, Plumbing, Locksmith, Security Controls, Life Safety, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of the job as listed.
Licenses or Certifications:

Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license.

  • Knowledge of local government operations, aquatics related programs, policies and plans, and modern office practices and procedures.
