SMRMC PRN -Registered Nurse​/Inpatien-ICU

Overview

Hospital Wide Depts. Under general supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer, Associate Chief Nursing Officer, and the Nurse Manager, the Registered Nurse uses the nursing process to safely coordinate total patient care and education for patients as they are admitted and discharged from the facility.

• Rotate between weekends and holidays according to the needs of the facility, as determined by the Nurse Manager.
• Function within the scope of approved policies, procedures, and regulations for the department and organization.
• Provide independent nursing care in ICU, CVSU, ED, medical-surgical floors, and telemetry floors.
• Coordinate assignments based on current staffing needs.
• Document total care given, review and maintain patient charts per policy, and assist with accurate and timely entry of patient data, orders, and charges into the computer system.
• Collaborate with the CNO, ACNO, Nurse Manager, staff, physicians, administrators/assistants, home health, outpatient clinics, and all other ancillary departments to promote problem solving and teamwork.
• Maintain professional behavior with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors.
• Assist with departmental problem solving and teamwork as directed.
• Pass a pharmacology test for this position and maintain all required certifications and licensure on time.
• Attend yearly mandatory education requirements and Healthstream education sessions as assigned and arranged by the employee.

• Registered Nurse with current licensure and the ability to practice in the facility's scope of care.
• Ability to work in ICU, CVSU, ED, medical-surgical, and telemetry settings.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills; ability to work in a professional, non-defensive manner with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors.
• Demonstrated ability to document care and manage data entry accurately and timely.
• Commitment to completing required pharmacology and mandatory education requirements.
