Responsibilities
The RN is responsible for managing patients admitted or being seen for medical conditions or surgical procedures; serves as a professional nurse leader in assessing, planning, guiding, and evaluating nursing care. Provides safe, competent care in accordance with facility policies, standards and philosophy; supports the healthcare team; applies Patient Centered Care principles; performs assessments related to specific conditions, therapies and interventions;
oversees nursing staff; coordinates with hospital staff and ancillary departments for patient care, concerns, and resolution of conflicts; may work weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, and/or on‑call status; demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.
- Prefer one year full‑time or three years part‑time experience in an acute care setting.
- Commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
- Registered Nurse licensed in Texas (or part of a compact state license or valid temporary RN license while awaiting permanent license). BSN preferred.
- Must possess an Associate Degree, Baccalaureate Degree, or Diploma from a School of Nursing or University, effective January 6, 2012.
- Must have and maintain BLS and current certifications required by unit needs, per ARC or AHA curriculum.
