Infusion RN – Texas Oncology – McAllen, TX

Full-time Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm. No weekends, calls, or major holidays.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
  • Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.
  • Prepare and administer therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician.
  • Administer all medications and blood products using correct medication, dosage/amount, route, time, and technique.
  • Ensure pre‑authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration of therapies where applicable.
  • Facilitate dose modification by evaluating patient labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, problems, and symptom management.
  • Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheter devices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments provided.
  • Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
Qualifications
  • Level 1
    • Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education; BSN preferred.
    • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in a practicing state.
    • 0‑3 years nursing experience, preferably at least one year in oncology.
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Level 2 (in addition to Level 1 requirements)
    • 3‑5 years nursing experience.
    • Oncology certification preferred.
  • Level Sr (in addition to Level 1 and Level 2 requirements)
    • Five years nursing experience.
