First Baptist Church of McAllen is prayerfully seeking a God‑called Senior Pastor to lead, shepherd, and equip our church family. We desire a pastor who keeps Christ and the Gospel at the center of everything—guiding, preaching, discipleship, leadership, and God’s mission—with love, faithfulness, and a heart for our community.

Key Responsibilities- Preach and teach the Word of God faithfully, clearly, and applicably
- Provide leadership grounded in prayer and Scripture
- Shepherd the congregation with wisdom, humility, and compassion
- Equip and empower leaders and members for ministry and discipleship
- Lead and encourage church members in personal evangelism, and community engagement
- Oversee staff and ministries in partnership with church leadership
- Model a life of integrity, faith maturity
We are seeking a pastor who:
- Has a God-centered life – A man after God’s own heart with a deep, growing relationship with Christ; actively seeks, listens to, and obeys the Lord.
- Is Spirit-filled and Spirit-led – Relies on the Holy Spirit for guidance through prayer, discernment, and humility in all areas of ministry.
- Demonstrates biblical conviction – Firmly anchored in the truth of God’s Word; aligned with conservative, biblical theology and a clear Gospel of salvation by grace alone.
- Is a faithful preacher and teacher – Communicates Scripture clearly and biblically.
- Has a Shepherd’s heart – Loves God’s people, cares for others with compassion, patience, and integrity, and leads as a servant.
- Is a humble servant‑leader – Seeks God’s will above personal agenda; leads by example and serves both church and community.
- Has vision and discernment – Able to see what God desires for the church and lead toward spiritual health, unity, and growth.
- Is resilient and steady – Able to withstand challenges and obstacles while remaining focused on God’s purposes.
- Is relational and approachable – Listens well, understands the needs of people, and builds trust across all ages and backgrounds.
- Has a heart for outreach – Encourages the church to engage the community and minister to those in need.
- Is committed to discipleship – Passionate about building up the body and leading believers toward maturity in Christ.
- Has a deep love for the local church – Committed to unity, mutual love, and faithful shepherding of the congregation
- Has a heart for the lost – Committed to reaching those who do not know the saving grace of God through his son Jesus Christ.
High school diploma or equivalent required, seminary education preferred.
Minimum Experience in Years5 yrs – 10 yrs preferred
