Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Entry‑Level Food Safety Technician to join our Food Safety & Quality Assurance team at our fresh produce cold storage and repack facility in McAllen, TX. This role plays a critical part in protecting product integrity, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining the highest standards of food safety throughout daily operations.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct routine Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) inspections throughout the facility.
- Monitor and document sanitation activities and compliance standards
. - Assist with the Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP), including swabbing procedures.
- Perform ATP testing and accurately record and report results.
- Verify and document pre‑operational inspections
. - Monitor and document product and facility temperatures
. - Maintain accurate food safety records, logs, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs, FDA regulations, and industry standards.
- Support internal audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with employee food safety training when required.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Basic knowledge of food safety principles (HACCP, GMPs, sanitation) preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Excel, Word, data entry).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to walk production and warehouse areas daily.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
- Comfortable working in refrigerated environments (30–40°F).
- Able to stand for extended periods as needed.
