Cardiac Cath Lab Tech FT at South Texas Health System
Responsibilities- Assists Cardiologist in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Performs quality control procedures as required by the manufacturer.
- Evaluates orders, verifies with cardiologist, ensures proper lab results and history for contraindications.
- Familiar with various interventional equipment and wires to assist cardiologist.
- Interacts with hospital staff and nursing departments regarding patient care, concerns, and conflicts; identifies and assists in resolutions.
- Maintains performance skills and is accountable for professional competence.
- Works weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, overtime, and/or on-call/call-back status as needed.
- 2 years prior Special Procedure and/or Radiographer experience preferred.
- Membership in related professional organization preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; compliance with all policies and procedures, attendance at required training, and immediate reporting of suspected compliance issues.
- Graduate from an approved school in Radiologic Technology.
- Currently licensed as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) in the State of Texas.
- Current ARRT licensure (technologists exempted from ARRT certification must meet Public Law 97-35 requirements).
- Non-radiologic technologists must have active certification with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as an RCIS or RCES.
- Current certification in Interventional Angiography preferred.
- Must have and maintain current BCLS and ACLS certifications, in accordance with the AHA Healthcare Provider's Program curriculum.
