Job SummaryThe Intake Representative I will handle inbound calls regarding automobile insurance claims. You will provide excellent customer service by entering new claims in the system and assigning them to the appropriate adjuster. You may also assist customers with existing claims and perform administrative duties.
Job Responsibilities- Answer incoming telephone calls and maintain key metrics including an abandon rate of less than 10%, a service level greater than 80%, and a maximum auxiliary time of 30 minutes per day.
- Enter new claims into the system and send relevant correspondence to the appropriate adjuster and, if necessary, to the policyholder.
- Provide acceptable phone coverage.
- Ask questions to develop additional skills and demonstrate a desire to advance to the next level in the claims department.
- May be called upon to perform additional duties as needed and as assigned by the supervisor.
Required
- At least 6 months of experience in a customer service/customer support environment.
- Excellent PC skills.
Preferred
- Undergraduate degree.
- Experience in claims or a call center.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced automated production environment.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Excellent communication/interpersonal and customer service skills.
- High degree of motivation and team orientation.
