Automotive Lube Technician at Sames Auto Group

• Perform upper and lower level lube technician functions focused on fluid checks and basic maintenance.
• Change a vehicle’s oil, check the transmission fluid and other fluid levels, inspect various belts and filters, and check air levels and gauges.
• Assist technician mechanics in performing technical activities and continuously seek out and learn new technical information, equipment, tools and techniques.
• Maintain and secure work tools, turn off and lock out equipment when not in use, and keep an organized, clean and hazard free work environment.
• Keep store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.

• 1-2 years of automotive mechanical experience.
• Basic understanding of car maintenance and appropriate hand tools.
• Knowledge of shop tools and equipment such as scanners, fluid exchange equipment, lift operation, etc.
• Comfort entering and reading information on computer screens.
• Ability to identify, comprehend and act on changing customer requirements; work well under pressure of deadlines.
• Attention to detail, pride in workmanship, good customer relations, polite and courteous manner, cooperative attitude, and team oriented.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive a variety of vehicle types; insurable.
• Excellent communication and English reading and writing skills.

Stand on concrete or metal surfaces for extended periods. Work in environments that frequently experience extreme hot and cold temperatures, loud noises, and exhaust fumes. Lift and move inventory items up to 50 pounds. Perform pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, raising and holding tools and other items with hands for many shift hours.
