Under administrative direction, the Administrative Assistant provides office administration, records management, clerical and coordination support functions for the daily operation of the Information Technology (I.T.) Department. Employee provides direct assistance to Information Technology Director requiring a high level of competency, dedication and confidentiality. Employee assists with daily office activities, general accounting practices dealing with departmental budget and credit card reconciliation, and basic bookkeeping of all I.T. related purchases.
Position involves flexibility and knowledge of a complex degree of information requiring considerable organizational and analytical skills. This position requires multi-tasking, knowledge and efficient use of personal computer, general office equipment and the ability to learn new departmental software and procedures. Employee handles confidential information, and maintains contact with all levels of City employees and departments. Job requires professional conduct, mature judgment, and proven ability to handle confidential, sensitive, and highly volatile issues.
