Shift: 12 Hour Night Shift
The Nursing Supervisor collaborates with unit leadership to ensure appropriate staffing and serves as a resource to the Nursing staff. The role demonstrates continued competence in professional nursing practice, flexibility for staffing, and knowledge of growth and development to meet age‑related needs of the patient populations served.
ResponsibilitiesCollaborates with unit leadership to ensure appropriate staffing during the assigned shift and serves as a liaison between nursing and other departments.
Provides consultation to Nurse Managers on administrative issues and evaluates nursing care activities of each unit throughout the shift.
Confers with nursing staff individually as patient or staff needs may dictate and with the Hospital Administrator, on‑call, about patient, family, physician, staff, and community problems when necessary.
Demonstrates the ability to resolve complexities of bed allocation, addresses complex patient care situations daily, and refers staff to clinical resources as appropriate.
Fosters nursing care practices consistent with the philosophy, standards, and policies of Loyola University Health System and promotes changes in nursing care practices as necessary.
Evaluates progress of orienting staff in conjunction with the Education Coordinator and Clinical Nurse Specialist, recommends continuing education needs of the staff, and works supportively with students and instructors from affiliated institutions.
Participates in formal evaluations of nursing care delivery, encourages a scientific, problem‑solving approach to patient‑care problems, and updates technology within nursing.
Follows hospital‑wide and departmental safety policies, infection control policies, and uses safe and effective equipment, consistently displaying appropriate customer relations behavior and participating in performance improvement activities.
- Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Preferred Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing
- Minimum Experience: 3–5 years of hospital nursing experience, 3–5 years of previous job‑related experience
- Preferred Experience: 6–10 years of hospital nursing experience, 6–10 years of previous job‑related experience
- Licensure/Certification s (Required): Current Registered Nurse License, State of Illinois; BLS

Pay Range: $35.89 – $62.91
Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
