The Assistant Nurse Manager supports the Nurse Manager and Clinical Nurse Leader in overseeing the daily operations and quality outcomes of the medical-surgical unit. This role involves direct supervision of nursing staff, coordination of patient care, and ensuring adherence to clinical standards and hospital policies. The Assistant Nurse Manager serves as a clinical resource, mentor, and leader, promoting excellence in patient outcomes and staff development.

• Operationalize the organization s mission, philosophy, operating principles, model of care, and strategic plans/goals.
• Participate in developing, implementing and evaluating the annual department goals and objectives in alignment with the mission, philosophy, operating principles, model of care, and strategic plans/goals.
• Ensure staff knowledge and participation in quality improvement activities, including but not limited to The Joint Commission s core measure projects, National Patient Safety Goals initiatives, and NDNQI goals; evidenced-based projects and research activities.
• Participate in bi-annual review of all unit-specific policies/procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and evidence-based practice.
• Communicate current professional nursing standards that reflect standards for patient populations.
• Participate in house-wide quality and safety indicators and evidence-based projects, and establish unit-specific quality indicators.
• Establish unit-based evidenced-based projects/research projects as appropriate.
• Utilize the patient safety communication system, identify opportunities for improvement and lead/participate in initiatives to improve quality and safety.
• Demonstrate improvement in the quality and safety of patient care through an interdisciplinary unit-based committee/mechanism, which monitors the effectiveness/appropriateness and outcomes of patient care.

• Bachelor s degree in Nursing required.
• 3-5 years of previous RN experience required, 5-7 preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Illinois.
• CPR certification.
• Other:
  Specialty certification in a clinical or functional area of nursing granted by a national nursing organization is preferred.

Pay Range: $40.46-$64.74

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
