Duties and Responsibilities

Systems Analyst II (SA-II) positions are mid-level information systems professionals that focus on the implementation of enterprise applications and system solutions. SA-II positions require the ability to work with functional operational units to analyze current business processes; support recommendations for process improvements; and instantiate desired processes in vendor provided solutions. SA-IIs are expected to work independently and with light direction from senior team leads.

SA-IIs must communicate, both written and orally, with a range of individuals including functional unit managers, staff, faculty, and professional staff, with diverse sets of content expertise. For the current ERA projects, ideal SA-IIs would have a general working knowledge of higher education research environments and processes.

  • Perform moderately complex system analyses necessary to implement required application, system, or solution (30%)
  • Configure, develop, and/or instantiate required applications, systems or solutions (35%)
  • Document and communicate application (or module) functional specifications and revised solutions (15%)
  • Assist in application/system testing and troubleshooting (10%)
  • Participate in functional unit, research, technical and staff team meetings (5%)
  • Other duties as assigned (5%)
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
  • This position requires a bachelor's degree in information technologies or equivalent experience with at least 4 years of experience in the field or related experience.
  • 3+ years of business or systems analyses experience
  • 3+ years of experience with systems implementation including configuration of application modules, process workflows, and application-specific coding
  • Working knowledge of business processes related to higher education and/or research.
  • Certifications in relational database and web technologies - preferred
