Overview
The Transport Technician will assist in transporting patients to and from the various testing areas and nursing units within the medical center, by operating designated elevators to ensure patients are transported in a courteous, safe and timely manner.

- Transport patients to and from testing areas and nursing units within the medical center, operating designated elevators to ensure courteous, safe, and timely transport.
- Communicate with the designated dispatcher at all stages of transport and interact courteously with ancillary areas, nursing, department personnel, patients, and guests.
- Report issues affecting the ability to transport patients efficiently to the dispatcher (delay management) and inform management regarding customer satisfaction concerns.
- Safety:
Report unsafe equipment to management, follow safe practices to protect the health and well-being of patients, visitors, or coworkers, and use transport equipment safely and effectively. Prioritize patient safety in all actions. - Accountability:
Transport patients in a timely manner, attend required in-services and staff meetings, and abide by department and hospital policies and procedures. Take direction from lead, supervisor/coordinator, and director. Demonstrate initiative and contribute to service and process improvements. - Work collaboratively with the transport team to deliver customer-oriented and cost-effective care. Maintain defined levels of productivity.
- Privacy:
Understand and follow hospital HIPAA policies and procedures and maintain patient and guest privacy at all times during transport.
Pay Range: $16.00 - $18.51 per hour. Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
