Duties and Responsibilities

The community liaison acts as a bridge to encourage community engagement and connection between residents and the PULSE program within the Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing. The liaison fosters trust, raises awareness, and facilitates access to resources. This is a grant-funded position through June 30, 2026 with the possibility of renewal dependent upon funding availability. Up to 10 hours per week as scheduled.

  • Build, foster, and maintain relationships with community members, leaders, and organizations in order to identify innovative ways to reach underrepresented populations.
  • Assist with organization and promotion of events focused on screening and education.
  • Facilitate resident and group awareness of available resources such as community organizations, workshops, social services, and the health system.
  • Assist with recruitment of community members for workshops, events, and other activities.
  • Advocate for community members, especially underrepresented populations, to promote their voice in program aims, design, and outcomes.
  • Engage with local organizations and local leaders to align efforts with ongoing programs and leverage capacity and resources.
  • Assist with collecting information about population health needs and the program's effectiveness.
  • Provide input on initiative design, implementation, and evaluation.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience

High school diploma. Background in community engagement, outreach, or healthcare/public health settings is beneficial. Must have experience working with and engaging underrepresented populations.
