Position Summary:

The Infection Control Manager is trained in hospital epidemiology principles and is responsible for the surveillance, analysis, interpretation and reporting of hospital acquired infections (HAI), educating employees about infection prevention; and the development of health system policies and procedures to ensure rigorous infection control standards that meet TJC, OSHA, Centers for Medicaid/Medicare Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other nationally organized agencies recommendations and requirements.

* Will serve as back up to the employee health RN as needed for employee surveillance and assistance with workers' compensation.

* Coordinates the development and evaluation of the organization's infection prevention and control strategies, policies, and planning.

* Collects and performs statistical analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of healthcare acquired infection data, including risk assessment, surveillance priorities, and outcomes analysis.

* Monitors local, state, and federal regulations and ensures compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies' standards and requirements.

* Assists with the development of educational resources and initiatives

* Monitors research and developments in the field of infection prevention and control to identify best practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

* Bachelor's degree preferred

* Applicable work experience may be used in lieu of education

Certifications:

* Basic Life Support (BLS) one month from hire date

License:

* Registered Nurse licensed to work in the state of Kentucky
