The Infection Control Manager is trained in hospital epidemiology principles and is responsible for the surveillance, analysis, interpretation and reporting of hospital acquired infections (HAI), educating employees about infection prevention; and the development of health system policies and procedures to ensure rigorous infection control standards that meet TJC, OSHA, Centers for Medicaid/Medicare Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other nationally organized agencies recommendations and requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Will serve as back up to the employee health RN as needed for employee surveillance and assistance with workers' compensation.
- Coordinates the development and evaluation of the organization's infection prevention and control strategies, policies, and planning.
- Collects and performs statistical analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of healthcare acquired infection data, including risk assessment, surveillance priorities, and outcomes analysis.
- Monitors local, state, and federal regulations and ensures compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies' standards and requirements.
- Assists with the development of educational resources and initiatives.
- Monitors research and developments in the field of infection prevention and control to identify best practices.
- Education:
Bachelor's degree preferred. Applicable work experience may be used in lieu of education. - Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) one month from hire date. - License:
Registered Nurse licensed to work in the state of Kentucky.
