Schedule:
Full-time, 80 hours per pay period;
Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
Position is not eligible for remote work. Must report on-site daily.

The LTC Billing Specialist is responsible for accurate billing, ensuring accuracy of payments posted to patient accounts, account reconciliation, and follow-up for resident accounts. This role ensures compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, and private-pay requirements while maintaining professional communication with residents and their families regarding account balances due and billing inquiries.
Position Responsibilities- Monitor and collect financial billing information for submitting claims and submitting financial statements for private pay residents.
- Communicate with residents and their families regarding account balances due and billing inquiries.
- Monitor claim status, identify denials, and complete timely corrections and resubmissions.
- Reconcile resident accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Update financial spreadsheets to monitor correct pay source and cost reports.
- Ensure accuracy of payments posted to residents' accounts in hospital billing system.
- Work closely with admissions, nursing, social services, and business office staff to ensure billing accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, and private-pay requirements.
- Maintain detailed, confidential records of billing activity and family communications.
- Assist with audits and provide requested documentation.
- Perform other duties as requested.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's degree or equivalent business experience preferred.
- 2+ years of related work experience preferred.
- Experience with insurance billing preferred.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.
- Intermediate proficiency with computers is required.
- Must have exceptional customer service skills.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
